Well I had some big news to share with you, the news I hinted about last month, but of course all of our lives have, once again, become dominated by COVID-19, and the 1-month lockdown from this coming Thursday (so we're open til 8pm on Wednesaday if you'd like to pop in for one last time until we re-open)…….
So, I will tell you about my news later, but for now I’d focus on the help we’d once again like to offer to our fellow villagers, friends & family, and anyone who simply needs some help, or just a friendly voice at the end of the phone.
Glenn & I are happy to collect shopping or run errands for anyone who needs it, just like we did before and so please, don’t hesitate to ask. We’ve contacted people directly too, and so some of you reading this will have already heard from us.
In terms of items you may wish to purchase from No64 i.e.
Christmas gifts - I’ll wrap anything beautifully for you, and we’ll send out via our national courier network arrangement for you, and so all you need to do is tell me what you want….
- A gift box or voucher just to bring a little cheer to a friend, family member, neighbour – Glenn will update our ‘Gift Boxes & Vouchers’ section on our website as quickly as he can but the idea is you tell me how much you would like to spend, give me an idea on which No64 products, and I'll do the rest for you!
- Annie Sloan paints & accessories – I’ve picked this brand out specifically as during the previous lockdown so many of you did those painting or upcycling jobs around the house (you’ve been avoiding for years!).
The last lockdown was spring/summer of course and so this time around it'll definitely be those indoor jobs you've ear-marked but never gotten round to (I speak from experience!). The Annie Sloan range of paints & accessories is extensive and easy to use. Give it a try, what have you got to lose?
And, in terms of how you will be able to shop with us (as obviously we’ll be closed until we’re allowed to re-open), we will once again be offering the following methods:
Online Shopping – Glenn’s been working night & day to get our online shop - www.No64.co.uk - as good as it can be. It’s a horrible thing to have to say but during the previous lockdown if we didn’t have online we would not have survived, our beautiful shop would have closed, and so online is as critical to us as it is to any business during these dreadful times.
Kerbside Collection – As we did during the previous lockdown we are happy for you to call us (on 01590 643765) or email an order to us if you’d prefer (enquiries@no64.co.uk) and we’ll prepare your order for you to come and collect, COVID safely of course…and providing we’re allowed to offer this service (we don’t have lockdown rules yet!).
Local Delivery – If you would rather not leave home we can deliver locally, we’ll leave your order in a safe place and let you know it’s there, you can then retrieve once we’re gone. During the previous lockdown we combined local deliveries with collecting & delivering groceries, or prescriptions, for our neighbours & fellow villagers in need. It worked well but of course, as with kerbside collection, we need to abide by the forthcoming rules from the government.
I don’t know about you (reading this) but I find writing it sad, I can’t believe that once again we’re not going to be able to see you guys, and of course I’m not going to be able to see my family, it’s so sad but I totally get that if we follow the rules we beat this thing.
I would therefore urge any of you angered by this second lockdown announcement to just to knuckle down and follow the rules, please, as I don’t want to lose anyone I know, I don’t want people to lose their businesses, and I want us all to be able to see our families at Christmas.
And finally, as it will be our last day of trading tomorrow WE WILL BE OPEN UNTIL 8PM (on Wednesday) for those of you unable to get to us during the day, who maybe want to grab anything before we close.
Moving on to something a little more cheery….
I told you we had a big announcement that I couldn’t quite let you know about last month, as Glenn didn’t quite have it signed and sealed, but I can now announce our new brand…..[drum roll]
Dr. Vranjes arrives at No64 Biscuit House!
We are absolutely thrilled to announce that we have been awarded UK stockist status (putting us alongside the likes of Harrods and Liberty’s!!) for the stunning Italian scent brand, Dr. Vranjes Firenze.
Their diffusers, as you will soon see, are simply beautiful. Presented in a range of stunning handmade glass receptacles, crafted by Tuscan craftsmen, these exquisitely balanced fragrances are just scented poetry!
And yes, these scents really are created by a doctor, Dr. Paolo Vranjes, who says it better than I think I could:
