Annie Sloan Old White – “The colour of chalk and gesso, this is a cool soft white without pink or yellow in it”. It works with everything, but for the quintessential French look use it over Paris Grey. It can also be added to any of the other colours to lighten them and make them the exact tone for your room.

Annie Sloan Old White – where it all began!

Annie Sloan first developed her now famous furniture paint, Chalk Paint®, in 1990 and one little known fact is that not only was Old White her first colour, but it was also called “No.1”.

It wasn’t until Annie started to market her furniture paint, and started to work with creative and media agencies, that the colour names of her paints were born.

Chalk Paint® is Annie Sloan’s quick and easy way to get colourful. You can use it to paint furniture, floors, walls – even to dye fabric. You can paint it thickly for a textured finish or dilute it for a smooth finish – add even more water for a washed wood look or to create a stain.

When Annie first created Chalk Paint®, there was no paint available with the properties Annie was looking for, so she decided to develop her own. She came to choose the name “Chalk Paint” because it was suggestive of its very matt—almost chalky—finish.

The beauty of Annie’s Chalk Paint® is that there’s no need for sanding, it really is a case of open the tin, dipping in your brush, and applying paint to furniture or your up-cycling project piece!

You can order Annie Sloan Old White, or any of Annie’s amazing range of colours, online from us and, if you’re local, we can arrange kerbside collection, we can deliver locally free of charge, or we can send to anywhere in the UK mainland using our national courier network.

Please call us ahead of your visit, we’ll run through with you the measures we’ve put in place to protect us, and you, and we’ll ensure you can collect, or we can deliver your products safely. We'll also ensure we have the stock you want, just in case we've sold out.
