April Blog

Well it's been a strange old month, not just for us of course but for everyone. Since our last Blog lockdown has really taken its grip and no-one should be in any doubt about the unprecedented times we're in, and the seriousness of social distancing - you don't need us to tell you that I'm sure!

So in April both Glenn & my birthdays came and went, and of course neither of us have 'seen' our families, but there's always something good, I hope for everyone, that makes you happy during these times. For me my highlight was a quiz on zoom for my birthday, it involved my whole family at various locations (mum, sister, my kids, my sister's kids) and it involved multiple rounds of questions and pictures....it was brillaint, and so lovely to see my whole family, virtually of course!

Update on the launch of the No64 Gift Box service

So last month we launched our online Gift Box service and we have to say a massive thank you to so many of you who have supported us, we've had so many requests for gifts to be delivered to your friends, family, loved ones, and lots to neighbours and people you've just wanted to cheer up!

You've made a lot of people's days with these gifts, often surprise gifts, and it's been our absolute pleasure sending and delivering them for you....although we are running low on chocolate now but don't worry, we've ordered more!

Now the best way to do this, order a gift for someone from us, is to give us a call or email us and we'll give you a call to discuss your exact requirements, and of course your lovely message to that special person which we'll write for you.

Yes, on our website there are 12 examples of gifts sets (under our 'Gifts & Vouchers' tab), but we've found that you really enjoy personalising your gift and it's been great fun working with you to get it just perfect! You can still order online, if you want to, but we'll still need to speak to you if you'd like a personalised message included.

This image shows one delighted recipient!! So wonderful to see such joy during these tough times.

Could you spare us 5 minutes and write us a review.......please?

Would you mind doing us a small favour? If you love No64 Biscuit House, or even if you don't (if we're doing something wrong we need to know!!), we'd really appreciate it if you'd write us a review.........please?

It's very simple to do, why not do it now while you're online? So either type into Google 'No64 Biscuit House' or click here and it'll take you straight there (but don't forget to come back and finishing reading this month's Blog!).

When you get there if you look down the right hand side you'll see a section which says 'Reviews from the web', below that there's a tab that says 'Write a review', click it and write your review. You can also see what everyone else who has written one has said.

Would you do that for us? We'd really appreciate 5 munites of your time to do so. Thank you.

No64 and the Instagram GIVEAWAY competition - Next one coming soon!

So recently we've dipped our toe into the world of competitions on Instagram and our first was really good fun and so we're going to do them regularly, so make sure you follow us on Instagram! Here's our username: @no64bh and if you follow us you can win FREE No64 stuff!

Pictured here is what our first GIVEAWAY competition looked like, to enter all you needed to do was:

  1. Follow us (easy!) - you probably are already if you're on Instagram
  2. 'Like' our post (easy!)
  3. Tag 2 people from your Instagram (just have a look at our competition post to see what this means if you're not sure, loads of people did it, but you literally just add the usernames of 2 of your Instagram friends, ones who might also like to enter and win free stuff too!)

Once you've done these 3 simple things, which will take you 30 seconds, you've entered. At the published cut-off date we make the draw and the winning person gets the prize, including postage if we need to send it to you - cool hey? You have no commitment and could win free No64 stuff!

As you can see the first one we did was for a tin of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint™ of your choice (worth £21.95), loads of people entered and joined in the fun, and we then got the lovely Charlotte from Boots the Chemist, our next door neighbour shop, to witness the draw (which was done randomly via a specialist 'random number selecting' website)!

Watch out for our next Instagram GIVEAWAY competition which starts tomorrow, Saturday 2nd May at 5pm (it's going to be a fabulous set of Mango wood chopping boards but shoosh, don't tell anyone!), see you there!

'E-Commerce sales soar in lockdown' - not our words but the words of an article published about us recently!

I'm going to finish with some wonderful press coverage we got recently, I'm so thrilled with this article (click here to be taken to the article) I can't tell you, and I hope you enjoy reading it as much as we did.

Here's an exert, part of the interview I did:

Clare says: “I love using Annie Sloan products, they’re so easy to use, the techniques are easy to learn, and if you make a mistake you simply start again. It’s such good fun turning a tired piece of furniture, that I could have just as easily taken to the dump, into a period piece, a distressed antique, or as good as new. You can even use it to make yourself some money, upcycling old furniture and then advertising them, or upcycling furniture for other people.”

She continues: “I hoped people would realise their inner-Picasso but I couldn’t have dreamt just how popular the suggestion would be, from dawn to dusk we’ve been fulfilling orders, taking calls, and pleading with Annie Sloan HQ to get our additional orders to us ASAP!”

What do they say about everyone having their 15 minutes of fame??

So time to start May, dare we dream it's the month this wretched (but necessary!) lockdown ends? Stay home and stay safe everyone and thank you once again from Glenn & I for all your support, we wouldn't be here without you all!

Clare xx
