Dansk Smykkekunst jewellery in stock and in store

Dansk jewellery is all Nickel and Lead-free (conforming to regulations as laid out in the EU directive regarding these metals coming into contact with the skin).

The base material used in Dansk jewellery is Copper or Brass; this is then plated with 14 carat Gold, sterling Silver, Hematite, Rose Gold, or Rhodium (Rhodium is a fine precious metal, like Silver, but unlike Silver it doesn’t oxidize).

In addition, Dansk jewellery is made using semi-precious stones, beads, glass, or freshwater pearls. Mother of pearls and enamels are all selected from the highest quality available. All earring ‘sticks’ are made from surgical steel.

What we really love about Dansk is that a large part of their ethos is design and make unique and attractive fashion jewellery available to their customers globally, at an affordable price.

So, there’s a little factual information for you, now let’s talk about this season’s jewellery in particular, Autumn / Winter.

The Autumn / Winter range from Dansk Smykkekunst Copenhagen, now at No64

The Dansk Autumn / Winter range is characterised by textured surfaces, chunky chains and bold statement pieces.

Dansk Smykkekunst jewellery now available from our online shop

Obviously, we at No64, can’t stock the entire Dansk jewellery range, much as we’d like to, as for this season alone there are more than 400 new items! And what characterises this new range in particular is textured surfaces, chunky chains, and bold statement pieces.

While sticking to their minimalistic, simplistic and Scandinavian approach Dansk strive to create jewellery for all different styles and tastes, valuing robust, solid and unique pieces with surfaces and materials that stand out.

What we love is their attention to their customer feedback, they make pieces in their new collections that will compliment pieces from previous collections, meaning you have limitless opportunity to combine your jewellery from all seasons, to fabulous effect.

With the latest trends in mind Dansk make endless refinements, every season, to platings’, materials, colours and textures.

Dansk Smykkekunst – A Danish story

Today, Dansk Smykkekunst Copenhagen is run by husband and wife, Christian and Malene Storm. As previously mentioned, this second-generation family business holds one of Scandinavia’s largest collections of fashion jewellery and accessories, commanding them a leading position on the international jewellery scene.

The story begins in 1971. In the early years Dansk Smykkekunst produced handmade jewellery, created exclusively from Silver, in a basement in Copenhagen.

As with any expanding business more storage capacity was needed and the company moved into a private address, which later became Christian’s childhood home.

Different methods of jewellery manufacturing and sales were explored which lead Christian’s family to factories in Thailand, Vietnam and China. Consequently, they became true pioneers – risk takers of their time.

Through the 1980’s, the jewellery industry was constantly evolving, bringing in elements of fashion including trends, seasonal collections, and a demand for constant change. As a result of this Dansk turned their attention to bijouteri - jewellery esteemed for the delicacy of the work, rather than the value of the materials.

Christian joined the business at the turn of the millennium to work alongside his mother, Jette Storm. In 2007 he met Malene and the couple quickly merged their aspirations, with Malene becoming Head of Design.

Resolutely, she simplified the designs for a distinctive, minimalistic aesthetic. She elevated the design philosophy creating a new, forceful signature for Dansk Smykkekunst and re-invented the codes synonymic for the family business.

From Copenhagen to the United Kingdom, Germany, France and Spain, the love for fashion jewellery spread which brought the company to the international position it holds today. More than 15 agents and distributors service more than 4000 retailers in 15 countries.

We think the Dansk story is amazing and, as you know, we love to work with family-run, independent businesses who were once where we are, at the beginning of our journey….

And finally, Dansk also do a range of fashion accessories which include scarves, bags and gloves.......we've ordered some of those too!

We can't wait to see and hear what you think of our new brand!
