No64 August Blog
31 August 2018
August, at No64 Biscuit House, was about our Christmas 'private view', our new Ester & Erik candle range, competition time, and a bunch of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint workshops! Crazy, crazy, busy!
No64 Biscuit House Christmas 'Private View' Event
So last year some of you will have attended our first ever 'Christmas Private View' event and WOW, what an event it was, I think I'm still recovering now!
Basically I closed half of the shop off and then styled it with our Christmas stock, which consisted of our stunning selection of Scandinavian Christmas decorations, homewares, gifts & cards.
In the evening this room was unveiled, firstly as an offer for Hampshire Living readers between 5 & 6pm (see below), and then straight after to our own guest list, to whom we served Prosecco and other goodies, including a goody-bag gift from us, and we went on until 9pm.
It was a great night, really great night, and so we've decided we're definitely doing it again. If you'd like to attend please let us know and we'll put you on our guest list, you can do this by emailing us, letting us know next time you come into the shop, or completing the enquiry form on our website.
We will also be emailing out to our existing database very soon so watch out for that email, the first of which will be called 'Save the Date', same as last year. Hope you can make it........
Ester & Erik - New candle ranges available now!
On the subject of Christmas (sorry, I know it's only August) we've also just received our long awaited, and much anticipated, new candle ranges by No64 favourite Ester & Erik of Denmark.
We now stock a selection of their Taper & Cone candles, including their Christmas colours, and they're stunning! If you'd like to read about them in a little more detail here's an article Glenn recently published on our Blog announcing their arrival - 'Ester & Erik Taper Candles' - or better still rush down for a look in person!
One of the things we love about them is that they arrive in, and are dispayed in, racks which stack. You simply choose your favourite colour and we snip them at the wick and wrap them for you, it's a little theatre typical of this amazing brand!
Annie Sloan Workshops @ No64
We've run 3 Annie Sloan workshops this month and Glenn has now finished his training, he's proud to be an accredited Workshop deliverer!
We'd also like to apologise for those of you who we were unable to accommodate on these workshops, there are only 6 places per course and those 18 places (for the 3 courses we did) were requested by 41 people, and so we had to do them on a first come first served basis.
For this we're so sorry but what could we do? You'll obviously say "offer more dates" but it wasn't that easy as these classes we co-hosted, as Glenn was still in training, and our hosts had to be booked well in advance.
So again, we're sorry if we weren't able to accommodate you but new dates will be announced very soon for those of you on our reserve list, as well as generally, so watch out for the email and please respond as quickly as you can!
Competition time at No64 Biscuit House
This month we ran a couple of co-hosted Instagram competitions, for the first time, and they proved to be hugely popular.
For one of our competitions we gave away a great prize, an Ester & Erik Garden Torch (as pictured here).
And in the other we provided a £75.00 voucher as the prize for a great competition we ran in conjunction with our good friend Amanda Arkell of Home at the Heart, a local Interior & Lifestyle Blogger.
Due to the success of these competitions we're definitely going to be doing more and are delighted to announce some really great news on this front: some of our fabulous suppliers have now offered to provide us with some amazing prizes to help us out with these competitions!
So make sure you'll following us on Instagram @No64BH if you would like to be in with a chance of winning one of these wonderful give-away prizes!
Well that's it for this month, actually it's not as I could go on & on but I won't as I think I've said enough already!
As always it's been great to see you all in-store in August, as well as receiving those messages, calls and online orders from those No64 fans too far away to visit regularly, and we look forward to engaging with you again in September!
Thank you for your support and for your time for reading our Blog.
All my love,
Clare (& Glenn)
