No64 December Blog - "In The Press"
2 January 2018
As you'll see December's Blog is a little different, it's called “No64 - In The Press”. Yes, little old No64....actually we're not that old at all, we're not even a year old yet, our first year anniversary is February 24th!
This, to me, is why I think it's all the more amazing, for us, to look back on the wonderful press coverage we've received, and the wonderful things people have said about us in magazines and online.
We just thought this would be the perfect way to end our first calendar year, enjoy....
Lymington Times, March
It all started in March, the Lymington Advertiser & Times kindly wrote about our opening just 3 weeks earlier. We were so pleased they were interested in writing about us , and nervous about them coming to interview us, at such an early stage!
Hampshire Living, June
In June when Hampshire Living wrote a lovely article about our home, the work we've done on it, my styling career, and the evolution of No64 Biscuit House. It was the first story in the publication, which was an honour in itself, it was 3 full pages with images, and it was entitled 'Living the Danish dream'.
I was really nervous about being interviewed by Jane Sullivan, which lasted 3 hours, but I need not have been as she was really lovely and made me feel completely relaxed about everything.
Coast, Summer Special
For the Summer Special issue of Coast we were delighted to have been featured as their 'SHOP of the MONTH'.
What amazed us about this wonderful accolade was that we had at least 2 lots of 'Coast brandishing' new customers through the door before we even knew we'd been featured!
That was our first taste of feeling truly humbled that we'd been written about so early in our journey as shop-keepers!
Country Homes & Interiors, October
In the October issue of Country Homes & Interiors we were their 'Favourite Shop for Scandi Style', a full page with a Q&A section. The Content Editor, Tara King, was really lovely and the month the article was published 3 of the ladies from the magazine visited the shop and they loved it!
Self Build & Design, October
Also in October village friends Tom & Juliette Chamberlain, owners of Adcroft Build & Renovation, gave us a few great plugs within their amazing article in 'Self Build & Design' magazine.
They had recently completed the most stunning conversion of a derelict garden workshop into a luxury New Forest retreat and we were thrilled when Juliette dropped us in a copy of the article, for them and for our couple of mentions.
The article is testament to their amazing vision and incredible design & build skills, it's well worth a read.
Hampshire Living, November
We were back in Hampshire Living in November with a beautiful double page spread which show-cased our 'Christmas stock launch evening'.
With the article readers got an exclusive hour in our shop prior to our main event that evening. The event was a huge success, we had well over 200 people through the shop in just two and half hours! Incredible.
Baby Hampshire, Christmas Special
For their Christmas Special edition Baby Hampshire featured us, in particular mentioning our recently acquired 'stockist status' of Danish homewares brand Madam Stoltz.
Hampshire Life, Christmas edition
In the Christmas edition of Hampshire Life I got a lovely mention, as did No64 Biscuit House, for my styling services and the provision of products for dressing this lovely property, which is available as a holiday let via New Forest Escapes.
Harriet Bailey took some wonderful photographs, and within the Q&A at the end of the 4 page article the owners' answer to the question: “Name a favourite store?”, we were delighted the answer was “No64 Biscuit House”.
Here's the first of the 4 pages, if you'd like to read the whole article but didn't get a copy of the magazine just let me know, by clicking here to email me, and I'll send it to you.
Oakhaven Hospice Trust, Lymington
I'd also just like to mention some charity work we did earlier this year for Oakhaven Hospice Trust, an organisation very close to Glenn's heart as they looked after his father, in Cornwall, during his final days.
They asked if I'd help provide my interior design experience for their new kitchenette in Lymington, of course I was happy to and subsequently received this wonderful letter of thanks from Andrew Ryde, Chief Executive of the trust.
So that's our 2017 "In The Press", looking back we both feel very proud & honoured that all of these titles have mentioned us at all, it's amazing.
So to 2018. We're off to see new suppliers, as well as existing, for most of early January, we'll then re-open on January 22nd with new ranges and stock for Spring/Summer, and we can't wait!
We hope you've all had as wonderful a 2017 as we have and we can't wait for 2018.
Have a Happy & Prosperous New Year everyone!
Clare xx (& Glenn - who really doesn't get the credit he deserves!!)
