No64 Biscuit House - April Blog

Well what a month April was - Birthdays, Lambing Live and an Easter bonanza at No64!

Both Glenn & I had birthdays, on the 16th & 17th April, but of course we worked straight through them as that was the Easter weekend....we did get a surprise visit from James from The Cave Wine Bar as we closed on the Saturday though. A glass of bubbles for me and a small beer for Glenn.....how lovely.

Then there was Lambing Live down at Aubrey Farm in Keyhaven, hosted by the wonderful Lisa & Simeon Morgan from Lisa's Larder, a heart warming experience with all proceeds going to Oakhaven Hospice Trust. I so nearly took this little baby home with me!

And for us at No64 Biscuit House the Easter weekend was amazing. We saw a definite increase in people around the village, which to us signalled the Summer season was almost upon us, and our card machine even decided it was going to start working properly too....not before time!

In readiness for your forthcoming outdoor entertaining and alfresco gatherings we've stocked up on some beautiful, Scandinavian designed (of course!), glassware and ceramic sets to compliment any gathering, including our fabulous glass Punch Bowl Set (bowl, ladle and 6 glasses!). To complete your set one of our 100% linen table-cloths, adorned with pretty napkins, would look really amazing.

To me there's something really special about dining outside in the Summer, perhaps making sure you grab the opportunity when it does present itself is part of the fun!

If you're unable to visit us in person Glenn's finished building our brilliant No64 Online Shop and so you can order online, you can even choose next day delivery if you're as impatient as me! We have a great team that manages our packaging to ensure everything arrives with you in pristine condition.

Finally my product of the moment. It has to be this stylish & eye-catching 'Darla' Lantern from one of our favourite suppliers, Lene Bjerre of Denmark. Standing 40cm tall it's manufactured from Glass and Mango Wood and finished in a Natural Antique colour. It's a real statement piece for any room, or even on your patio/decking on a summer's day/evening, and I think it's great value at £85 (we only have 4 left though and we can't get any more – not a sales pitch!).

May kicks off with a bang with the Milford May Fayre on Monday the 1st, so hopefully see you there for a bit of Morris Dancing!
